WHAT IT IS USED FOR

An antifungal medicine for the treatment of vaginal and vulvovaginal candidiasis, as well as secondary infections caused by Gram-positive bacteria.

HOW IT WORKS

Miconazole nitrate kills fungi (including Candida) by damaging their cell membrane. It also acts against some Gram-positive bacteria.

HOW TO USE

The duration of treatment is set by your doctor according to the type and severity of the infection. Simultaneous treatment of the partner is recommended. Not for use in people under 18 years.

WHEN IT SHOULD NOT BE USED

hypersensitivity to miconazole nitrate, other imidazole derivatives or to any of the excipients;

the first trimester of pregnancy;

children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Important to know

Use with caution in patients with diabetes or microcirculation disorders. If you are taking anticoagulants (for example warfarin or other vitamin K antagonists), tell your doctor: miconazole may enhance their effect; stop use and seek medical advice if signs of bleeding occur.

The ovules may reduce the effectiveness of latex condoms and diaphragms, increasing the risk of tearing. In the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, use only as advised by your doctor. Stop treatment if irritation or allergic reactions occur. Read the package leaflet carefully before use.
