WHAT IT IS USED FOR
A hormone replacement therapy medicine used in postmenopausal women. It is used to treat urogenital symptoms (dryness, itching, discomfort during intercourse, vaginal and urinary infections) caused by estrogen deficiency.
HOW IT WORKS
Estriol restores hormonal balance in the vaginal area, normalizing the epithelium and restoring normal vaginal flora and physiological pH. The effect develops within 1-2 weeks of treatment.
HOW TO USE
Insert deep into the vagina in the evening before bedtime. Starting dose: 1 ovule daily for 2-4 weeks. After symptom improvement, the dose is gradually reduced to 1 ovule twice weekly (maintenance dose). For postmenopausal women only.
WHEN IT SHOULD NOT BE USED
hypersensitivity to estriol or excipients;
breast cancer diagnosed, suspected or in history;
pregnancy and breast-feeding;
unexplained vaginal bleeding;
venous thromboembolism present or in history;
acute liver disease or liver disease in history (unless liver function tests normalised).
Important to know
Use with caution in: hyperthyroidism, chronic heart failure, kidney disorders. Read the package leaflet carefully before use. Tell your doctor about any other medicines you are taking.
Possible side effects
Local: irritation, itching. Possible (frequency not known): light vaginal bleeding, burning sensation. If unusual side effects occur, stop use and consult your doctor.
STORAGE
Store below 25 °C in the original packaging. Keep out of the reach of children. Shelf life: 36 months.
