COMPOSITION

Each ovule contains: clindamycin (as clindamycin phosphate) 100 mg.

Excipients: semi-synthetic solid glycerides.

WHAT IT IS USED FOR

An antibiotic for the local treatment of bacterial vaginosis - a vaginal infection caused by an imbalance of the normal bacterial flora.

HOW IT WORKS

Clindamycin is an antibiotic of the lincosamide group. It stops the growth of the bacteria responsible for bacterial vaginosis, acting locally on the vaginal mucosa.

HOW TO USE

Administered intravaginally. Recommended dose: one ovule per day, in the evening at bedtime, for 3 consecutive days. Insert the ovule deep into the vagina.

WHEN IT SHOULD NOT BE USED

hypersensitivity to clindamycin, lincomycin or to any of the excipients;

a history of colitis (inflammation of the bowel) associated with antibiotic use;

the first trimester of pregnancy;

children and adolescents under 16 years of age.

Important to know

In the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, use only if clearly necessary and on the advice of a doctor; during breast-feeding, only after the doctor has weighed the risks and benefits.

During treatment, avoid sexual intercourse and other vaginal products (tampons, vaginal douching). Latex condoms and diaphragms may be damaged by the ovule excipients - do not rely on them during treatment and for 72 hours afterwards.

If severe or persistent diarrhoea occurs during or after treatment, stop using the product and consult a doctor immediately. Read the package leaflet carefully before use.

Possible side effects

Common: vulvovaginal candidiasis and other fungal infections, vulvovaginal pain or discomfort, headache, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, nausea, itching.

Uncommon: vomiting, skin rash, vaginal infection, menstrual disorders, vaginal discharge, pain or itching at the application site, fever.

If side effects occur, consult a doctor or pharmacist.

STORAGE

Store below 25 °C. Keep out of the reach of children. Shelf life: 36 months.
